What meals are included in the tarrif?
You'll start each day with a gourmet breakfast which is included in your cost. Choose from our menu of cooked or continental breakasts, which can be delivered to the cottage or served in the Lodge's dining room. Other meals are available at an additional charge. We specialize in gourmet country cooking with most meat, vegetables and fruit grown on our farm and where possible, organically produce.
Can we self cater?
If you have chosen to stay at Waitomo Boutique Lodge you will love oru large designer kitchen which is a cook's delight. The cottage has a kitchenette and you are welcome to prepare your own meals if you prefer.
Do you have internet access?
Yes, we have wireless broadband (WiFi) available free of charge in both the Cottage and the Lodge for your convenience. Bring your own laptop or, if you are staying in the Lodge, you are welcome to use our office computer
What happens if we need to cancel?
We realise that life can be unpredicatble and you may need to cancel your booking. Our cancellation policy is here. We recommend our guests have travel insurance to manage these situations.
How do we pay?
Choose from internet banking, bank cheque, cash or credit card - whichever is easiest for you.
Will there be activities for our children?
Youngsters love spending time on our farm there is plenty for them to do, with appropriate supervision. The cottage is a studio and is not equipped with additional beds but if you are staying in the lodge there are child-friendly bedrooms. If you are traveling with children, please let us know in advance and if there are any special interests we can involve them in.
What are check-in and check-out times?
We can usually be flexible with arrival and departure times so you can make the most of your time with us. Our standard check in times is 4pm and checkout times is 10am. If your schedules doesn't neatly fit these times, let us know and we will do our best to accommodation your timetable.
Can I bring my dog?
Because this is a working farm we are cautious about allowing other dogs on to the property, but we will do our best to accommodation your dog if we can. Please talk to us about your dog when you are booking.
How do we get to Montrose?
We encourage our guests to allow plenty of time for the journey if that's possible. The scenery is wonderful so a leisurely drive is rewarding. Also, sections of the road are gravel (small, loose rocks) so a slower pace is recommended, especially if you are not familiar with driving on NZ country roads.
If you are travelling by car, we highly recommend that you arrive by 4pm, so you can relax and unqqind with a nice glass of wine, leaving plenty of time to watch one of our New Zealand sunsets.
If you arriving by private airplane, Waitomo Boutique Lodge does have an airstrip and space for landing a helicopter. Please let us know in advance so we can clear the airstrip of animals!
